George W. Waite, 87, of Decatur, IL passed away at 7:45 p.m. Friday (Sept. 3, 2010) in Imboden Creek Living Center.

Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Sunday (Sept. 5, 2010) at Dawson & Wikoff North Chapel. Visitation will be one hour prior to services. Burial will be in Marrowbone Cemetery, Bethany, IL. Mr. Waite was born on June 28, 1923 in Mt. Vernon, IL, he was the youngest of ten children to William and Nellie (Sowers) Waite. He retired from Ornamental Metal Works after thirty-eight years of service, he then continued his metal work at his home. He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church. George served proudly in the Armed Forces during WWII. He married Bessie Tucker on December 29, 1978.

Surviving is his wife: Bessie Waite of Decatur, IL; children: Terry Waite of Decatur, IL, Jim Waite of Hilltop Lakes, TX, Sherry Miller of Tuscola, IL; ten grandchildren; one great grandchild.

He was preceded in death by his parents, six sisters and three brothers.
